Stanley Brown, certified sommelier and writer for Ladue News, features the 2017 Finca Decero Remolinos Vineyard Malbec in his ongoing series of “The Wine Life: What I am Drinking Now…” Brown provides his personal review of the wine, detailing its delicious nature: “extremely well-balanced; envelops the whole mouth with dancing fruit and milt tannins with acidity enough to leave the mouth watering.” the unique history of the Finca Decero winery is provided. As an introduction, the winery’s founder, Swiss-born Thomas Schmidheiny, was motorcycling through the Chilean Andres when he fell in love with the Agrelo wine region of Mendoza, Argentina; he later purchased a plot of bare land there and subsequently founded Decero (de cero translates from Spanish to “from scratch”).
